Virginio Zoccatelli | An Italian Embroiderer
A grandmother embroiderer, an artisan composer, musical memories of Italy and a peculiar quintet. These are the threads that are woven into “An Italian Embroiderer”, this new album by Virginio Zoccatelli.
We have already met Virginio in the choral project “Umanità su Rotaia“. This time we embark on a journey in Italian musical memories, from those of migrants to the madrigals of Gesualdo in the 16th century to the contemporary, passing by an homage to Venice and Antonio Salieri.
The album also marks the debut on record of the Triskeles Saxophone Quartet, whose 4 musicians teamed up with clarinetist Enzo Toscano to bring you Virginio’s musical embroidery.
